Statement of Faith

1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
• “All scripture is given by the inspiration of God…” (2 Timothy 3:16)
• “Prophecy came not in old time by the will of man; but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.” (2 Peter 1:21)

2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
• “The Lord our God, the Lord is one.” (Mark 12:29)
• “God in the past spoke to us in many ways, but in these last days, has spoken to us by His Son.” (Hebrews 1:1-3)
• See also John 1:1-3,14 and Matthew 3:16-17.

3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
• “We have a great high priest…Jesus the Son of God.” (Hebrews 4:14)
• “Christ died once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous.” (1 Peter 3:18)
• “You seek Jesus…He is not here, He is risen.” (Mark 16:5-6)
• “This same Jesus which is taken up into heaven, shall come again in like manner.” (Acts 1:11)

4. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
• “All have sinned and fall short of God’s glory.” (Romans 3:23)
• “While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:3)
• “For the wages of sin is death, God’s free gift is eternal life through Jesus.” (Romans 6:23)
• “Jesus said, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me.’” (John 14:6)
• See also Romans 10:9 and Acts 4:12.

5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
• “…the Father will send the Holy Spirit to you…” (John 14:16-17)
• “The Holy Spirit will convince the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment.” (John 16:8)
• “…obey only the Holy Spirit’s instructions. He will tell you where to go and what to do…” (Galatians 5:16-17 - Living Bible)

6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
• “…for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of God.” (Romans 10:14)
• “For we must all stand before Christ to be judged…to receive whatever he deserves for the good or bad things done in his earthly body.” (2 Corinthians 5:10 – Living Bible)
• “Absent from the body, present with the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 5:8)

7. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
• “…Though we are many, we are one body in Christ.” (Romans 12:5)
• “…many members…all one body.” (1 Corinthians 12:12-27)
• “There is one body and one spirit…” (Ephesians 4:4)
